What is NITHYA S-Line Smooth?

NITHYA S-Line Smooth is a preparation for needle and microneedle mesotherapy manufactured by Euroresearch Srl (Milan, Italy). It contains three complementary active ingredients: Argireline® (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 0.1%) – a peptide that relaxes facial expression muscles, type I atelocollagen – a substrate and stimulator for fibroblasts, and an amino acid complex – building blocks for a new dermal matrix.

Unlike other NITHYA products, it targets dynamic expression lines caused by repeated contractions of facial muscles. It is the only product in the line combining myorelaxant action (Argireline®) with collagen biostimulation (atelocollagen) – see also collagen stimulators.

Argireline® (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) – SNARE-level mechanism

Argireline® is a synthetic analogue of the N-terminal end of SNAP-25, a key component of the SNARE complex responsible for acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction.

• competes with SNAP-25 for a place in the SNARE complex and reduces the amount of acetylcholine released,
• result: partial, reversible reduction of expression-muscle contraction force – dynamic lines become shallower,
• a mechanism different from botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) – no paralysis, a subtler effect that gradually fades.

Argireline® in needle mesotherapy vs topical cosmetics

• topical – the peptide must cross the stratum corneum, which limits bioavailability in the dermis; mild effect, requires months of use,
• needle mesotherapy – delivered directly into the dermis near neuromuscular junctions; a clearer effect already after 2–3 sessions.

Type I atelocollagen and amino acid complex

Type I atelocollagen belongs to the same class of substances used in NITHYA Collagen Type I. It is minimally immunogenic, serves as a substrate for fibroblasts, activates them through mechanotransduction and supports neocollagenesis. The amino acid complex (proline, glycine, hydroxyproline, lysine and others) supplies building blocks for the synthesis of new collagen chains.

Treatment protocol

Contraindications

FAQ – questions and answers

Is Argireline® the same as botox?

No. The goal is similar (muscle relaxation), the mechanism is different. Botulinum toxin (BoNT-A) cleaves SNAP-25 and fully blocks acetylcholine release – hence the "frozen face" effect lasting 3–6 months. Argireline® competitively disrupts the SNARE complex – it acts reversibly, more gently and more naturally. It is a non-toxic alternative for patients who fear botox or have contraindications to it.

How does S-Line Smooth differ from S-Line Shield and S-Line Stimulate?

Each product works at a different level. S-Line Shield (succinic acid + HA) – cellular metabolism, Krebs cycle, ATP, antioxidant action: dull complexion, under-eye shadows. S-Line Smooth (Argireline® + atelocollagen + amino acids) – neuromuscular and structural level: dynamic lines. S-Line Stimulate (Tetrapeptide-2 + atelocollagen + HA) – TGF-β1 and MMP inhibition: skin density, stretch marks, scars.

How does S-Line Smooth differ from Synerlift DMAE & PDRN?

NITHYA Synerlift DMAE & PDRN works through DMAE (an acetylcholine precursor that indirectly tones muscles) and PDRN (regeneration via A2A receptors) – a lifting effect. S-Line Smooth works the opposite way: Argireline® relaxes muscles and reduces expression furrows. Both can be combined: Smooth for expression lines, Synerlift for overall lifting.

When are results visible?

First smoothing of expression lines is visible after 2–3 sessions. The full effect of relaxation and collagen rebuilding builds up over the entire 4–6 session course and lasts several weeks after its completion.

Can S-Line Smooth be used with dermapen?

Yes, the product is suitable for needle and microneedle mesotherapy. In microneedling it is applied as a serum on the skin during the procedure. The needle technique is recommended as the primary method because it delivers Argireline® closer to the neuromuscular junctions.

Can it be combined with other Nithya products?

Yes. Recommended protocols: S-Line Smooth + NITHYA Collagen Type I (muscle relaxation + deep matrix rebuilding) or S-Line Smooth + S-Line Shield (smoothing of expression lines + metabolism and hydration).
